The former Ghana Ambassador to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Egypt under the erstwhile John Dramani Mahama-led National Democratic Congress (NDC) administration, H.E Alhaji Said Sinare, has declared that the 2024 polls will serve as a referendum on the failed leadership of President Nana Addo and his Dr. Bawumia-led New Patriotic Party (NPP) government.

According to Alhaji Said Sinare, the former National Vice Chairman of the opposition National Democratic Congress, the results of the election will be a resounding rejection of the “corrupt and heartless” government that has plagued the nation into “wicked” economic quagmire.

The NPP government, led by President Nana Addo and Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has been marred by numerous scandals, economic mismanagement, and a blatant disregard for the welfare of the Ghanaian people. The once-promising Ghana under the leadership of John Dramani Mahama’s NDC administration has sadly devolved into a haven of massive economic hardship, corruption, cronyism, incompetence, and blatant disregard to the welfare of Ghanaians under NPP, he said while addressing some NDC serial callers in his labony residence over the weekend.

Bawumia’s handling of the economy has been disastrous, with rampant inflation, a depreciating currency, and a staggering national debt. The promised prosperity has given way to widespread poverty, unemployment, and desperation and I can bet with my life that, this boy will kill us if we dare give him our country, Alhaji Sinare warns.

He also noted that, the NPP’s corruption has reached unprecedented levels, with scandals such as the PDS debacle, the AMERI deal, cash for seat, Ambulance scandals, and the galamsey saga, among others, tainting the government’s reputation. The lack of accountability and transparency has eroded trust in the administration, leaving Ghanaians disillusioned and disenfranchised.

Corruption has been a significant concern, with several high-profile cases involving government officials and appointees. The Akufo-Addo administration’s handling of these cases has been criticized for being lenient and lacking transparency, he stated.

The 2024 polls offer an opportunity for the Ghanaian people to pass judgment on the NPP’s failed leadership and my declaration serves as a rallying cry for those seeking change and a return to good governance. My NDC with the experienced John Dramani Mahama with his proven track record of economic management and social welfare, stands poised to offer a viable alternative to the NPP’s misrule.

Comrades, the NPP government’s response to social issues, such as education and healthcare, security, agriculture, and others has been deemed inadequate.

“As the election draws near, Ghanaians must remember the promises made and broken by the NPP. They must recall the hardships endured under this administration and demand better by voting massively for H.E John Dramani Mahama and all NDC PCs.”
