The former National Vice Chairman of the Opposition National Democratic Congress, H E Alhaji Said Sinare, Rawlings look-alike politician who said voting for the NPP in 2024 is dinning with the devil and rewarding failure has issued a scathing rebuke to Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) for their perceived inaction and neglect of many regions including the Northerns.
In a strongly worded statement, the former Ambassador to the kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Egypt, H.E Alhaji Sinare warned the NPP to desist from claiming ownership of the votes of the Zongos and Northerners, citing the government’s failure to address their pressing needs and concerns.
“The NPP government has been extremely lazy and has done nothing significant to benefit the people of Ghana including Zongos and Northern Regions,” Alhaji Sinare stated. “They have ignored our plight, failed to provide basic amenities, and neglected our development. You choose bathing in the air over the providing basic social amenities yet thinking Ghanaians will be fooled by your political gimmicks??
He noted that, it is hypocritical for the ruling NPP to claim the votes of Ghanaians when they have shown them no love or care as done by the the NDC which has implemented various projects, including roads, schools, employment, Scholarships, and healthcare facilities, which have greatly improved the lives of the people. It’s only fair that the NDC is rewarded with our votes for their efforts, he stated.
Alhaji Sinare’s warning comes after Dr. Bawumia’s recent statement claiming the NPP had a strong hold on the Northern Regions. The Vice President’s assertion has been widely criticized by many in the region, who see it an attempt to take their votes for granted.
The incident has sparked a wider debate about the politics of development and identity in Ghana, with many calling for politicians to prioritize the needs of citizens over partisan interests.
