The Ghanaian-set 2018 Dramatic film by Kobina Gyansah titled ‘AZILA’, has received the most nominations in the 2019 edition of the Golden Movie Awards.
The film, a rare tale of the sufferings of young girls in their attempts to make life meaningful for themselves and their families, was nominated in 18 different categories of this year’s awards, making it the most nominated in any single year since the inception of the award schemes.
Some nominations include Golden Actress In Drama, Golden Discovery Of The Year and Golden Most Promising Actor which go to Asana Alhassan who was the lead character in the beautifully-woven piece of art and max ingenuity of Azali.
Akofa Edjeani, who played the mother of the 14-year lead character, Amina also bagged nomination for Golden Supporting Actress Drama in this year’s edition of the awards.
The 5th edition of the awards is scheduled to come off on the 24th of August 2019 at the Movenpick Ambassador Hotel.
