Some letters circulating on social media purporting to request for a refund by the Afadzato South Member of Parliament, Angela Alorwu-Tay addressed to the District Executive of Afadzato South District has sparked controversy in the district ahead of the NDC Parliamentary primary elections slated for August 24, 2019.
The handwritten letters on the MP’s official letterhead copies sighted by Awake News sought to seek a refund from the District Assembly for some payments the MP had made to some young individuals in the district to aid them in the payment of their school fees.
As the NDC parliamentary primaries campaign in the constituency has hit its peak with the incumbent MP seeking re-election to represent the party in the 2020 parliamentary elections, many in the constituency have raised issues as to why the MP’s claim to have supported some young people in the payment of their school fees be touted as her achievements when she has was actually requested the District Assembly to refund all monies she used to support those student’s school fees in the district.
One of such groups that have raised similar concerns is the Intelligent Youth of Afadzato South (IYAS) alerting members in the district that whichever support they might have received from the MP toward their school fees are not for free but “bonafide portion [of the National cake] to tap into as citizens of Afadzato.”
“IYAS, with a myriad of documents to support this publication, will want to point out clearly with this few compiled slips to such individuals that, whichever ever fund paid on their heads is not for free, and as such being retrieved back to chest to the minute penny. This, as we can all see and read below, is in their multiple on the letters on the official letterhead of Hon. Angela O. Alorwu Tay. Such cannot in any form be construed as a benevolent gesture as deemed by these individuals.” – IYAS statement said
“We want to reechoed it once again to the knowledge of these personalities that, whichever support extended to them from the District Assembly Common Fund (DACF), which seem to have cajoled theiractions and inactions to this unmeritorious positioning of constant defence and praise–singing is their bonafide portion to tap into as citizens of Afadzato, as has been the case across all the 275 constituencies since time immemorial.” – the statement added

LET US WATCH IT ON A BROAD SPECTACLE
The upcoming NDC parliamentary primaries in Afadzato South, is fast revealing the identity of certain new personalities joining the political scene which per the mandate of their chosen road track into the political game ought to be neutral in their discourse. The phenomenon is bizarrely carving an unfortunate niche of boot-licking for these young stars with the grim consequence of stunting their political ambitions which promised a bright light.
The Intelligent Youth of Afadzato South (IYAS) have followed events closely over the period and wouldwant to sound a word of caution to such personalities to ‘WATCH IT BROAD. We want to reechoed it once again to the knowledge of these personalities that, whichever support extended to them from the District Assembly Common Fund (DACF), which seem to have cajoled their actions and inactions to this unmeritorious positioning of constant defence and praise–singing is their bonafide portion to tap into as citizens of Afadzato, as has been the case across all the 275 constituencies since time immemorial.
IYAS, with a myriad of documents to support this publication, will want to point out clearly with this few compiled slips to such individuals that, whichever ever fund paid on their heads is not for free, and as such being retrieved back to chest to the minute penny. This, as we can all see and read below, is in their multiple on the letters on the official letterhead of Hon. Angela O. Alorwu Tay. Such cannot in any form be construed as a benevolent gesture as deemed by these individuals.
IYAS is by this brainteaser entreating every citizen of Afadzato to engage this local internal parliamentary race with a very high sense of diplomacy that will transform the district and the NDC as a political party after the race.
To us in IYAS, it our position that, the most competent person among the contenders is been giving the mandate on the track record of links of development, goodwill and determination toward alleviating the people of Afadzato from their needs in better healthcare, good education, job placement for the teaming graduates and a befitting road network etc, and not who did not do two (2) or three (3) terms in parliament as candidate of the district.
We have seen and heard how MPs elsewhere in the country are performing magic to change the living conditions of their constituents. Let us all watch it on a broad spectacle.
May the best candidate win.
UP NEXT; USAGE OF AFADZATO NDC 2016 DIASPORA FUND.
