Agyapa Gold Royalties Saga: NPP holds degree of corruption – Siaw

The Running Mate of Progressive People’s Party(PPP), Mr. Kofi Asamoah Siaw has stated emphatically that countless corruption pactices going on in the governing New Patriotic Party(NPP) government led by the President Nana Addo including the Agyapa Gold Royalties Transaction, sacking of the Auditor General, missing of 500 excavators and collapsing of banks among others clearly shows that NPP holds a degree in corruption.

At a press conference held at Elmina, he observed that the creation of the office of the Special Prosecutor to fight against corruption was a smokescreen created to give a false impression that the President was incorruptible.
“When the President appointed Mr. Martin Amidu as the Special Prosecutor on Thursday, 11th January 2018 in fulfillment of his campaign promise, he described the appointment as the discharge of one of the most important functions of his(Nana Addo’s) presidency”, Mr. Asamoah Siaw stated.

Mr. Asamoah Siaw expressed worry about why the President, Nana Addo could instruct the Chief of Staff to order Mr. Amidu not to do anything about his report on the Agyapa Gold Royalties Transaction and also withhold any further action on the report for one week.
“Why will the President even assume that he could appoint someone to fight corruption and then turn around to control him, interfere with his work and keep him in his pocket? he questioned.
According to him, President Nana Addo who has been entrusted with the power to end corruption in all its forms, and benefited immeasurably from the anti-corruption campaign in 2016 against the Presidential Candidate of the opposition National Democratic Congress(NDC), Mr. John Dramani Mahama, has now become the active agent preventing the fight against corruption when his appointees are involved.

Mr. Asamoah Siaw called on Ghanaians to prevent Nana Addo’s incorruptible government by voting massively for Progressive People’s Party in the December elections.
The PPP Running Mate again lashed President Nana Addo for the number of collapsed of banks and some institutions in the country which has resulted in unprecedented job losses.
He mentioned that government has collapsed 432 financial institutions including nine local banks, 347 Microfinance, 23 Saving and Loans and Finance Houses and 53 Fund Management companies within two years.

Touching on the missing of over 500 excavators which were seized from local miners across the country, Mr. Asamoah Siaw said President Nana Addo has failed to fight against galamsey and wondered why no one has been made to account for the missing of 500 excavators till date.
