Luxor African Film Festival (LAFF) launches the Application Form for the 14th edition to be held from January 9 to 14, 2025

Screenwriter Sayed Fouad, founder and president of the Luxor African Film Festival (LAFF), announced that the application form for films in the four main competitions of festival has been launched:

1. Long Film Competition (Narrative, Documentary, and Animation) – Films exceeding 60 minutes.
2. Short Film Competition (Narrative, Documentary, and Animation)

Films for both of these two above mentioned competitions must be directed by African filmmakers.

3. Diaspora Films Competition (Narrative or Documentary Long Films) – For African directors residing outside the continent or films about Africa from a global perspective.
4. National Student Films Competition – For films by Egyptian cinema students.

The festival will start accepting films on its website www.luxorafricanfilmfestival.com from August 1, 2024, until October 30, 2024. All submitted films must be produced in 2024 and must not have been previously screened in Egypt.

Director Azza Elhosseiny, founder and executive director of the festival, also announced that the 14th edition will be held from January 9 to 14, 2025, in the city of Luxor, Upper-Egypt. The festival is organized by the Independent Shabab Foundation for Support and Development, a non-profit civil organization, in partnership with the Egyptian Ministries of Culture, Tourism, Antiquities, Youth and Sports, and Foreign Affairs, in collaboration with Luxor Governorate, and under the sponsorship of the Film Syndicate, the National Bank of Egypt, and Misr International Films.
