Complacency should not replace our watchdog Role at the polls, collation centres – Alhaji Sinare warns NDC
H.E Alhaji Said Sinare, former National Vice Chairman of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), has sounded a warning to party members, cautioning against complacency at the polls and collation centers in the upcoming 2024 elections.
In a facebook post, the National Chairman of the Zongo caucus working committee has emphasized the importance of remaining vigilant and ensuring the party’s victory. “Complacency should not replace our watchdog role at the polls and collation centers,” he stressed. “We must remain vigilant and ensure that the will of the Ghanaian people is protected.”
Alhaji Sinare’s warning comes as the NDC prepares to face off against the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) in what is expected to be a highly contested election.
“We have worked hard to get to this point, and we cannot afford to let our guard down now,” he said. “Every vote counts, and every polling station matters”. “Aside the agents, we must ensure that we voluntarily make ourselves present at every polling station and collation center across the country to protect the will of the people.”
The NDC’s Zongo President stated that, his warning is particularly relevant in light of concerns over electoral malpractice and voter suppression. He noted that the NDC has long been critical of the Electoral Commission’s handling of elections, and his comments reflect the party’s ongoing concerns.
The former Vice Chairman also emphasized the need for party unity and discipline, urging members to prioritize the party’s success over personal interests. “We must work together to achieve victory,” he said. “We cannot afford to let selfish and greedy behavior undermine our chances.”
Alhaji Sinare’s comments have been welcomed by party members, who see his warning as a timely reminder of the importance of vigilance in the upcoming elections. As the NDC prepares to face off against the NPP, Alhaji Sinare’s message is clear: the party must remain vigilant and united if it is to emerge victorious.
In a related development, Alhaji Sinare has also expressed his support for John Dramani Mahama’s 2024 presidential bid, describing the former President as the “best candidate” for the job. “John Mahama has the experience and leadership skills necessary to lead our country forward,” he said. “We must rally behind him and ensure his victory, he appeals to the Muslim community.
Alhaji Sinare also noted that, the NDC shall settle any pending outstanding electoral issue at the polling stations not at the court.
“Spread the word: It is imperative to settle any pending outstanding electoral issue at the polling stations through super monitoring of the ballot box at the polling stations rather than going to court.”

H.E ALHAJI SAID SINARE, NATIONAL CHAIRMAN OF ZONGO WORKING COMMITTEE WRITES…
Comrades, what obstacles could hinder us from voluntarily mobilizing 30 reliable party members to supplement our appointed agents, policing our ballot boxes at every polling station across the Constituencies in Ghana?
Once the votes are counted at the polling stations, these dedicated individuals will escort and police the results fearlessly from each polling station to the collation centers, ultimately leading to John’s Victory.
Suppose we have 300 branches in the Akatsi South Constituency, with 30 dedicated party supporters voluntarily decided to police the ballot boxes at each polling station.
Even if the police or military dares to intervene to impose the Incompetent Bawumia on Ghanaians with everything at their disposal it would be impossible for them to kill 9,000 people (300 x 30) in a single constituency.
If this level of support is replicated across the country, not even appointing Dr. Bawumia as the EC chairman could prevent H.E. John Dramani Mahama from emerging victorious at the polls.
