Benjamin Azamati, Ghana’s very own 100m record holder finished 4th on a debut in Wanda Diamond League in Oslo on Thursday.
The athlete crossed the finish line falling behind Reece Prescod of the Great Britain, Andre De Grasse of Canada and Akane Simbine of South Africa with a ran time of 10.15 seconds.
De Grasse won the race in a time of 10.05 seconds while Prescod (10.06 seconds) and Simbine (10.09 seconds) grabbed second and third places respectively.
The race was part of Azamati’s preparations for the World Athletics Championships and the Commonweatb Games.
Even though he hasn’t won the race, he put smiles on the faces of the majority of Ghanaians.
