Mr. Elvis Afriyie Ankrah has feared that Coronavirus cases in Ghana will blow out of proportion should the EC be allowed to go on with the new voter registration as planned.

While addressing journalists at the NDC headquarters in Accra on Thursday, May 21, the former Minister for Youth and Sports in Ghana wondered why the EC is still burnt on compiling a new voter register in the face of deadly Coronavirus.

He maintained his party’s position that the current voter register is still valid and credible and be used for the upcoming general elections.

Angry Elvis Afriyie Ankrah, however, the NDC will not hesitate to employ all legitimate means to stop the EC from going ahead with the new voter registration which will put the lives with Ghanaians at the risk of contracting the virus.

“We stand by our position that the current voters’ register is credible and that the country does not need a new voters’ register for this year’s general elections,” the NDC Director of Elections insisted.

“We are therefore employing all legitimate means to stop the needless, illogical, and wistful new voters’ register agenda of the Jean Mensa-led EC.”
