COVID-19 Outbreak : Involve chiefs to help in the fight- NPP Chairman tells Government


The Cape Coast North constituency Chairman of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr. Stephen Kojo Arhin, has appealed to the government to as matter of urgency involve all traditional authorities to help in the fight against the deadly Corona virus spread.

Mr. Arhin who is known in politics as ‘Wewebi’ emphatically stated that chiefs could help more by educating people in their various communities about the preventive measures of the COVID-19.
Speaking to the media at his residence, Wewebi commended President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo for the ban on public gathering and closure of all the Schools as part of efforts to fight the pandemic.
“Nana Addo is doing all he can to safe his nation from the Corona virus so it’s up to us Ghanaians to join hands to fight the disease” he stated.

According to him, President Nana Addo’s involvement with chiefs amongst other traditional authorities within this country would help the government to achieve it’s aim of ending the disease as soon as possible.
Mr. Arhin again called on traditional rulers to support the government to fight a good fight since the virus is no respector of persons not even “President or Pope”.
Mr. Arhin therefore expressed sadness where some people are still doubting the dangers posed by the virus in this country and joking with President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo’s directives.
He called for continuation of hand washing with soap and the use of hand sanitizers to help the country get rid of the COVID-19.

Mr. Arhin tasked the government not to spare anyone who will flout the law but rather sanction them to serve as a lesson for others.
Earlier, Mr. Arhin in collaboration with the Member of Parliament(MP) for Cape Coast North constituency , Mrs. Barbara Ayisi conducted mass disinfection exercise within Cape Coast North as part of the measures to control the spread of COVID-19 disease.
