The president’s address on Monday (29th June) night laid all emphasis on the upcoming new voter registration nationwide.
According to the president, citizens of the nation must come along with their traveling passport or the new Ghana card. Persons without these documents can fill a form and be guaranteed by persons with the card. Prior to this exercise, a lot of questions have been raised on whether the EC is focused on making Ghanaians vote freely or they are being manipulated by the ruling party NPP.
Nana Akufo-Addo urged Ghanaians to come out and register during this exercise to ensure their eligibility to vote in December. The opposition NDC has been very concerned with this exercise with several attempts to stop the process through petitions and agitations.
The electoral commission has since won all the cases raised against them by individuals and groups. The president has also cautioned Ghanaians to come out in their numbers to register for them to be able to vote in December since that is the only means to select leaders for this country.
Protect yourself while you go out to register.
