Ghana’s Minister for Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey made it clear in a tweet on Thursday February 24, 2022 that Ghana does not support Russia’s “unprovoked” attack on Ukraine.
In her tweet, she stated: “Today, the world woke up to the bombardment and invasion of Ukraine by the Russian Federation. Ghana condemns unreservedly this unprovoked attack on the sovereignty and territorial integrity of a United Nations Member State and calls on Russia to withdraw and end the war”.
It will be recalled that Ghana’s Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Ghana to the United Nations, Harold Adlai Agyeman had on Thursday indicated Ghana’s support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine earlier before the Russian troops were deployed into the Ukrainian cities.
Meanwhile as the war escalates further, many Ghanaian students and other international students in Ukraine are in panic and seeking escape immediately.
