The General Secretary of National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketia aka General Mosquito says the Electoral Commission (EC) cannot hold meetings in any of the cities or towns in Ghana not when the country is battling COVID-19.
The Outspoken NDC Stewart said the EC cannot go against the orders of President Akufo-Addo who during his famous 8th address to the nation extended the ban on public gatherings.
He noted sternly that the EC can only hold their meetings in Togo or Burkina Faso but not in Ghana as the ban on public gathering is still in full force.
He said;
“You look at the injunction very well there was no way the EC could hold any meeting in Ghana unless maybe Burkina Faso or Togo. I don’t understand why the Electoral Commission (EC) cannot adhere to rules and regulations or they are bigger than the country Ghana,’’
“We cannot allow the EC to be violating the rules and regulations of this country thus the Ghana Police Service must ensure that the laws of the country works.’’
