The information available to www.fnn24.com has indicated that major parts of the Ashanti Region particularly Kumasi and Bantama have run short of fufu and ampesi.
The shortage of fufu and ampesi in Kumasi and Bantama according to sources say is as a result of Akufo-Addo winning the presidential race.
Ghana went to the poll on Monday, December 7, 2020 for both the president and parliamentary elections.
The Electoral Commission (EC) Chairperson, Madam Jean Mensa on the evening of Wednesday, December 9, 2020, declared Akufo-Addo as the president-elect.
To celebrate the President-elect Akufo-Addo’s victory, the demand for the two staple food in the Ashanti increased, hence, leading to the shortage in supply in Kumasi and Bantama.
Meanwhile, a piece of additional information picked by www.Fnn24.com reveals that Cassava and plantains are now being supplied from the Bono and Ahafo regions to the Ashanti region.
