NEC Member Cecilia Asaga electrified the crowds, especially women during the just concluded Limited Registration Exercise, urging women to support NDC for economic empowerment.
In a passionate appeal to women across the country, Madam Cecilia Asaga, a member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) National Executive Committee (NEC), urged them to rally behind the party and its presidential candidate, John Dramani Mahama, in the upcoming elections.
Madam Asaga made her appeal at various centers while interacting with women in Wa West Constituency during the just-ended voter registration exercise in the Upper West Region, where she worked tirelessly to mobilize eligible voters and address their concerns. Her efforts demonstrate the party’s commitment to strengthening its grassroots and empowering women nationwide.
During her tour, Madam Asaga highlighted the NDC’s achievements, including the implementation of the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS), Progressively Free SHS, rural electrification, and expansion of badly-needed educational, road, and health infrastructure. She emphasized the importance of voting for the NDC to ensure the continuation of these policies and the introduction of new ones aimed at improving the lives of Ghanaians, stressing how the planned introduction of women’s banks will empower hardworking women.
Madam Asaga also urged registered voters to vote massively for the NDC’s parliamentary candidates, including incumbent MP Hon. Alhaji Rashid Pelpuo and Hon. Peter Lanchene Toobu, who she joined in distributing sanitary pads to mark Women’s Menstrual Health Day. Her tour covered the 11 constituencies in the region, with more destinations planned when the campaign kicks off in earnest.
As a staunch advocate for women’s rights, Madam Asaga reaffirmed her party is committed to continue supporting women nationwide through many initiatives. She emphasized the importance of empowering women for the progress and development of the nation.
” ‘Marry’ the NDC for John Mahama to rescue us,” Madam Asaga urged Ghanaian women. “The NDC is committed to supporting women and ensuring their economic empowerment. Let us work together to build a prosperous nation by campaigning and electing John to the throne of Governance,” she said while speaking to the media.
