The founder of African Institute for Employability and Entrepreneurship, Mr Jerry Kwabena Awuku is a final year student of the Regional Maritime University and the Chairman of The Nautical Group which comprises of (AIEE, Nautical Drys Laundry Services & X’clusive Nautical Cleaners, After Party Cleaners, Gracious God Farms, Rhema Industries, and other several businesses to his credit.)
The most interesting thing about Jerry is that he has never had an internship with any company just like what his mates will normally do except his experiences with his first company he started as a Laundryman during his first to second year period at the University. Upon several internship disappointments and rejections from his uncle who works in one of the biggest mining company’s. He decided to start his own company where he had gathered several Experiences including combining academics and successfully running all his businesses whiles still in school.
His first Laundry startup company Nautical Drys which was established in 2017, in the heart of Nungua has sprung forth a branch on the spintex road. He furthered his business career by starting Rhema Industries, a soap production company with which he has other plans of venturing into the field of manufacturing. Due to the charisma, he achieved among his peers brought a lot of people who showed interest in learning more about his soap production which later birthed AIEE School of Entrepreneurship now African Institute for Employability and Entrepreneurship.
As for his love for farming which cannot be underrated, he is a son of a proud farmer where he grew up helping his parents on their oil palm plantation, maize farms and his father’s orchard. He was greatly involved in his father’s oil milling business alongside his other siblings. The farming spirit instilled in him together with the love for Technology made him birth his Agrotech company, Gracious God Farms which has a major interest in food production and farm development. He is a well source after conference speaker and a young change maker which made him found his own nonprofit organization AfeeAfrica during his first year in the university.
Master Jerry Kwabena Awuku has supported many youth developments and social gender initiatives including his organization’s partnership with Afrobeats and Dancehall/ Raggae musician Livingstone Satekla popular known as Stonebwoy, under his organization The Livingstone Foundation which trained over 50 to 100 person’s with disability dubbed “Disability is not inability “.
The partnership program was held on 15th December 2018 at The College of Surgeons and Physicians where he taught the persons with disability Liquid soap/ bath soap making as a side hustle to prevent street begging. He has also engaged in several charities and donations, including his scholarship award to 10 selected persons with disability beneficiaries who performed well during the “Disability is not inability ” skills development program. He has also dedicated his birthday month to support, donate and empower challenged children which he began at the Nungua Children’s Home and Orphanage, last year October 2018.
He is a member of several youth and development initiatives both home and abroad including Global Peace Chain where he serves a Global peace Chain ambassador. Jerry Kwabena Awuku is a man of Charisma, passion and a lover of God who in his own efforts is raising a generation who can impact their generations.
