New modern and stunning looking icons have been slowly appearing in Windows 10 Microsoft’s OS. The company has started to roll out new icons in Windows 10 to modernize their OS. Updates are of a variety of built-in Windows 10 apps. These new icons follow Microsoft’s Fluent Design principles. Microsoft has revealed hundreds of these icons in December which are all colorful and modern than what exists in previous versions of Microsoft OS.
Mail, Voice Recorder, Calculator, Groove Music Movies & TV and Calendar are the first built-in apps to get the new icons. Many more of the apps would also be refreshed such as Photos. These new icons would change previous logos from the basic white logos that exist now to more stunning colorful options. These new icons are now available on the Release Preview Ring for windows 10 and would shortly be available to Windows 10 users.
This new icon change is all part of a broader Fluent Design Effort at the company to modernize the company’s software and services. All these new features would appear on their new Windows OS – Windows 10X, an OS designed for dual-screen devices like the Microsoft Surface Pro. But it is not clear whether the Windows 10 on regular PCs and Desktops would have a refinish of these new icons.
The company is also overhauling its Office icons and Design, with new options for the Word, Excel, Powerpoint, OneNote, and more. Microsoft has also updated the Edge Browser with new icons and Office too with a new logo. Microsoft’s design team is also working collaboratively internally on an “Open source” way.
All these changes are going to extend to the mobile versions of Office apps, focusing on its Fluent Design System for a variety of mobile apps.
