Top Ghanaian Marriage, Relationship and Youth Activist, Lady Evangelist Owurayere Nanapanin Kyeiwaa Arhin has finally touched on why most marriages are collapsing.
She has mentioned Post Marital counselling, PMC, as one of the factors that can and unmake marriage in a recent interview with Fnnewsroom.com.
According to the self-acclaimed ambassador for Post Marital Counselling, most couples who do not seek post-marital counselling face many challenges which even lead to the collapse of the marriage.
“… Most marriages have collapsed because couples after getting married do not seek post-marital counselling. So when they are faced with challenges, they do not know how to resolve those issues.”
Owurayere Nanapanin Arhin noted that many people will disagree with the argument that in the olden days, there was nothing like counsellors yet our parents have had a successful marriage.
On this, Owurayere Nanapanin Arhin said that parents acted as counsellors to their children with regards to marriage in the olden days.
She cited, a mother would call her daughter at dawn to advice her on various duties including respect for her husband, cooking and s3x.
She said;
“Mothers and grandmothers served as counsellors to their children in marriage. They taught them how to communicate with their husbands. How a woman should be submissive and respectful.”
Owurayere has insisted that Post-Marital Counselling is very necessary for today’s marriage to avoid marital challenges or difficulties couples face which can lead to domestic violence, separation, divorce, broken homes and heart-related disease
