Former Ambassador to Egypt and Saudi Arabia, H.E Alhaji Said Sinare, has issued a stern warning to the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) against attempting to replicate the violence and intimidation tactics employed during the Ayawaso West Wuogon by-election on December 7, 2024.
Speaking on Accra FM’s Citizen’s show, Alhaji Sinare, who is also the National Chairman of the Zongo Caucus Working Committee of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), cautioned the NPP that Ghanaians will not tolerate a repeat of the “Ayawaso nonsense” on election day.
Alhaji Sinare’s comments come as tensions rise ahead of the 2024 general elections as the ruling government continue to stress that, they wont hand over power to the NDC.
He said as an organizer, Ghanaians won’t spare the ruling government if they dare to rig the elections to impose Bawumia on Ghanaians.
Ayawaso West Wuogon by-election, which took place on January 31, 2019, was marred by violence and intimidation, with masked security personnel attacking opposition supporters and polling station officials was a rehearsal for the 2024 elections but it won’t happen, because Ghanaians angry and hungry for a Change of Government.
The former Ambassador’s warning is seen as a call to action, urging the NPP to respect the democratic process and the rights of all Ghanaians to participate in the elections without fear of violence or intimidation.
Alhaji Sinare emphasized that the NDC and Ghanaians will not tolerate any attempts to undermine the electoral process or compromise the safety and security of citizens. He called on the NPP to focus on losing the elections through legitimate means, rather than resorting to violence and intimidation.
