In a significant step toward enhancing community safety and development, the District Chief Executive (DCE) for Central Tongu, Hon. Addison Mornyuie Dodzi, has donated 20 street lights to the people of Kpoviedzi.
The donation, made on Thursday, was warmly received by the residents and local leaders, who praised the DCE for his continued commitment to grassroots development.
The brief but impactful ceremony was held in the heart of Kpoviedzi, where community members gathered to witness the presentation. Hon. Dodzi, in his address, highlighted the importance of street lighting in improving security, reducing crime, and encouraging social and economic activity during evening hours.
“Together with a section of my Constituency Executives led by Chairman Ametefe Kwadzo Macarthy, including Charity Boko, Confucius Bedzina, and Gabriel Atsem, we had the honour of handing over 20 streetlights to the chiefs and people of Kpoviedzi.
This fulfills a request made to the Volta Regional Minister, Hon. James Gunu. True to his word, Hon. Gunu released the streetlights, and we delivered them on his behalf”.
The initiative forms part of the Central Tongu District Assembly’s broader infrastructure and community support program aimed at improving the living conditions of constituents across the district. The 20 street lights are expected to be installed in key areas of the community, including busy junctions, walkways, and public gathering spaces.
Hon. Dodzi assured the community that the Assembly would continue to work hand in hand with residents to address their needs and bring government closer to the people.
