Hon. Benjamin Ayiku Narteh, the Member of Parliament for Ledzokuku in the Greater Accra Region has donated 2000 street lights to all the 12 electoral areas in the Ledzokuku Municipality as part of his 100 days in office project.

The donation according to the MP was to help improve safety for drivers, riders, pedestrians, vulnerable road users and also to curb all social vices associated with darkness since most streetlights in the constituency are lying defunct causing a lack of visibility in some areas.

Security is an important and basic component in the life of all persons it is against this backdrop that the need to illuminate dark areas in the constituency is incumbent.

The donation took place at Teshie Agblisan’s last stop. Present at the donation were Assembly Members, Opinion leaders, some leaders of residents associations, party members, etc.

The MP stated that though Ledzokuku for the first time is witnessing two different party leadership at the helm of affairs, which is for the first time, the MP coming from the opposition party and the MCE from the ruling party, this situation he said will not retard development in the municipality since he believes in all-inclusive leadership and that he is committed to working hand in hand with the leadership of the Assembly to put the people of Ledzokuku first.

He concluded by advising all persons in the constituency to adhere to the COVID 19 safety protocols religiously to remain healthy.

The presiding member and all the Assembly Members after the brief ceremony thanked the MP for providing a solution to one of the main problems they are facing in their various electoral areas.

Some opinion leaders also express gratitude to the MP for his nonpartisan approach to development in the constituency.

Hon. Ben Ayiku
