We have intercepted a letter circulating online concerning how some Ashanti Youths are praising John Mahama following the change of name of the Ameri Plant to Kumasi plant.
The letter speaks high of the former president and talks about the failure of the current administration.
Read the letter below;
Dear John Mahama,
I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to you today with a heavy heart and a humble spirit. As an Ashanti who supported the NPP and believed in their promises, I must admit that we were wrong in our criticisms and condemnations of you and the decisions made by your administration, especially regarding the AMERI Power Plant procurement.
For the past eight years, the NPP, which we supported and entrusted with our hopes, has failed us woefully. We have experienced power outages, inefficiencies, and disappointments in the energy sector that have affected our daily lives and businesses. The recent events surrounding the AMERI Power Plant have brought to light the truth that we have been blind to for far too long.
The AMERI Power Plant, which was procured by your administration, has proven to be a valuable asset in ensuring sustainable power supply and addressing the energy challenges we face. The decision to bring the plant to Kumasi and the subsequent renaming ceremony, which we vehemently criticized and condemned, has shown us the error of our ways.
I want to sincerely apologize to you, John Mahama, for the unjust criticisms and bitterness that were directed toward you and your government. It is clear now that the decisions you made were in the best interest of the country and its people, and we should have recognized and appreciated that.
I humbly ask for your forgiveness and understanding as we come to terms with the reality of our misguided beliefs. I hope that we can learn from this experience and strive to support leaders and decisions that truly benefit our nation and its people.
Thank you for your service to our country, and I apologize once again for our previous actions and words.
Yours sincerely,
Ashanti Youth
