Shatta wale(shatta movement) Ranked No.1 in Ghana And 13th as Africa’s Highest Paid Artist
Dancehall King Shatta Wale was the only Ghanaian musician to appear in the list of the top 15 highest paid Africa musicians.
Nigeria’s Burna Boy, Wizkid, and Rema were joint paid musicians at number 1-3 with 1 million each while Davido sits at number 4 with an estimate of 1 million to 500,000 dollars. “Lonely at the top” hitmaker Asake completes the top 5 with 500,000 dollars to his credit.
The full list of Africa’s highest booking fees saw only 3 Ghanaian artists appearing on the sheet. As expected, Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy came 13th and 23rd respectively while the last spot was occupied by budding act Black Sherrif. The big omission was the absence of Africa’s greatest rapper Sarkodie.
In 2023, Sarkodie placed 10th with an amount of $45,000 while Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy placed 12th and 13th respectively. Shatta Wale however has seen an increment in his booking fee rise from $30,000 to $120,000 placing 13th while Stonebwoy also saw an increment from $30,000 to $50,000 placing 23rd which means a lot of new acts have seen an increase in Demand for their craft hence the list competitive.
