President of the Republic of Ghana, H.E. Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has banned weddings, concerts, and parties in Ghana indefinitely.

In his 23rd address to the nation on measures government is taking to curb the spread of the novel coronavirus, said public gatherings of such nature should not exceed 25 people.

President Akufo-Addo has to take drastic measures as many Ghanaians are now adhering to the safety protocols of the deadly pandemic COVID-19.

Also the General Secretary of the Ghana Medical Association (GMA) has threatened to embark on a strike should government fail to impose restrictions on social gatherings as the surge in active Covid-19 cases persist.

Dr Justice Yankson on Saturday stressed that already health facilities are “on their knees”.

He, therefore reiterated calls for rigorous measures need to be implemented in order to curb the spike of the disease.
