Daylight robbery at Taifa-Burkina; brave victim knocks down suspects

A victim of a daylight robbery is in critical condition after he chased and knocked down two armed robbers at Taifa Burkina in the Ga East Municipal District.

The victim identified as Junior was robbed by two armed men on a motorbike in his residence at Mr. Adjei at Taifa Burkina after he returned from the bank with some money.

An eyewitness tells Awake News that the robbers after bolting away with Junior’s money attacked a mobile money agent close to the Roman Catholic Church at Burkina and made away with her cash.

But Junior who was the first victim of the incident which happened around 8 am Wednesday, March 27, 2019, gave the robbers a hot chase with his Pontiac Vibe car.

He bravely succeeded in knocking down the robbers at Wakiki Junction at but ended up sustaining severe injuries after his car somersaulted in the process.

According to the eyewitness, one of the suspects who was riding the motorbike fell off and was caught at the scene but the other who managed to escape was later nabbed by angry residents in a bush near the White Dove School at Taifa.

The suspects have been handed over to the Dome-Kwabenya police for further investigation.
