The vice president, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has come under fire from the Ghanaian singer Kwame Yogot for allegedly utilizing his music for political purposes without his permission.

The Vice President, according to Kwame Yogot, adopted his popular song “Biibi Besi,” which is played during his campaigns and was first heard when he announced his candidacy for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer position.

In a widely shared video, Kwame Yogot voiced his disgust and warned Dr. Bawumia and his campaign staff not to continue utilizing his music. Kuami Eugene is also included in the 2021 song.

Kwame Yogot underlined the time and money he spent on the music’s recording as well as the possible repercussions that could result from its unauthorized use in political campaigns.

He made it clear that he opposes both the NPP and the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

As the grandson of James Gyakye Quayson, the expelled member of parliament for Assin North, whom he said the NPP has been disrespecting and defaming, Kwame Yogot further argued that the NPP shouldn’t be exploiting his song.
